The nitrogen cycle involves the conversion of toxic nitrogenous wastes and ammonia into harmless products by bacterial colonies. In short, species of bacteria convert solid wastes excreted by fish into ammonia, ammonia into nitrite and nitrite into nitrate. In nature, nitrate may be utilized by algae as fertilizer or converted to nitrogen gas by bacteria and removed from the water.In most aquarium system nitrate will slowly accumulate in the water because there is not enough algae and bacteria present to utilize nitrate or convert it to nitrogen gas.

These nitrates must eventually be removed and this is done during frequent 10% water change.

Directions
Add 1 spoon (inside) directly to filter tank for each 80 gallons (300 liters) daily for first week , after that add once a week, and add as necessary to maintain level nitrite below 0.1mg./l.
Add double dose if got bad smell.
Better if use with the air pump together.
