This is a practical and functionally elegant solution for cooling aquariums. The split system enables the placement of the compressor remote from the heat exchanger (i.e. condensor or traditional internal unit) which can be mounted for example within an aquarium cabinet or in proximity to the aquarium. The positioning of the compressor (i.e. external unit) outside removes the noise factor inside and there is no heat being pumped into the interior of the room. The footprint of the exchanger tank, condensor, is small and allows for easy mounting on a bespoke bracket or simply anchored to any base. The utilisation of a quality brand compressor overcomes issues of adhoc and poor performance compressor being used. The plumbing of the refrigerant lines is minimal and although may be slightly obtrusive can be improved or disguised by cladding these with third-party air-con conduit. The installation is analogous to a split system domestic air-conditioner.
The installation was done in a very professional manner by SeaSun Aquarium and their air-conditioning engineering team.
The installation performs well. Recommended consideration for any who are considering the need for a chiller for their aquarium.
