Iron is necessary to normal growth and development of marine , invertebrates , plant , fish , and macro algae. In the marine environment iron slowly leeches into seawater from the sea floor. Dose not contain nitrate or phosphate , there by , avoiding contamination of the water and unnecessary algae growth.
