Notice Please read before use
- Do NOT remove the carbon plate until it reaches its duration limit (until the pilot lamp flickers). Water penetration is prevented by silicone sealant. If the carbon is removed and reattached , it might corrode.
- As for maintenance of the electrode unit , implement external cleaning without disassembly until the carbon plate reaches its duration limit.
- Do NOT use the unit for the purpose of pH reduction. This product is designed to supply CO₂ to a water - plant aquarium. If used for the purpose of reducing pH , CO2 tends to be oversupplied , which in turn may cause the fish in the aquarium to die.
- Do NOT use the unit in an aquarium with a water depth more than 60 cm. This will cause corrosion of the connector of the electrode head.
- Do NOT cover the unit with adhesive tape or expose it to the direct sunlight , which might cause discoloration of the unit.
- Do NOT install the unit where it will be exposed to direct sunlight . This would increase the amount of moss , which in turn would induce an increase in temperature , and deterioration of water quality.
- Use the unit where the ambient temperature is below 35 °C, and where ventilation is good. The unit may overheat if the ambient temperature is too high. This in turn would shorten the life of the unit, or cause it to malfunction.
- The unit softens hard water in the aquarium through electrolysis which in turn causes calcium and magnesium to be attracted and attached to the stainless - steel plate.
- Cover the electrode unit with the electrode cover when you use the unit.
- Avoid drying of the carbon plate while in use (such as leaving the electrode unit in the air). If the carbon plate is dried , it might damage the waterproofing capacity of the electrode head, and may cause the carbon plate to crack. Even if the unit is temporarily not being used, keep it in the water.
- When the carbon wears out, the plate may become cracked Please replace with the Nisso replacement carbon, which is sold separately.

Operation
Do NOT plug in the unit until all preliminary settings are completed.
1. Install the control unit to the wall.
1) Install the unit with a wood screw and others to a stable wall, pillar an others, such that the attachment can sufficiently support the control unit (Use, for example, a reach - available hanger hook).
2) If the power outlet is exposed to water drops, or it becomes wet by water running down the cord, fire or electric shock might occur Use an outlet which is sufficiently higher than and away from the aquarium. If, for unavoidable reason, a power outlet is located lower than the aquarium, make a water shedding trap.
2. Install the electrode unit to the aquarium.
1) Attach the suction cup to the electrode head.
2) Place the electrode unit into the water, and fix it vertically inside the aquarium with the suction cup. Place the electrode unit completely underwater. Exercise caution not to expose the connector to water.
3. Couple the connectors.
1) Couple the connector of the control unit and that of the electrode unit.
2) Plug in the unit to the power outlet. The pilot lamp will be lit (it will be also lit when the dial is set to zero). The pilot lamp flickers when the carbon plate has reached its duration limit.
4. Turn the dial to set it to a desired level.
1) The amount of CO2 generation increases / decreases in proportion to the dial setting. When the dial is turned clockwise from zero, CO₂ is generated from the electrode unit. (The unit is on even when the dial is set at zero, although almost no carbon dioxide is generated at this position)
2) The tiny bubbles are hydrogen; CO2 is dissolved into the water at the carbon plate, and therefore is not visible.
3) The actual dissolved amount of CO2 varies depending on water quality and other such factors. Adjust the dial according to the aquarium setting.
4) Adjust CO₂ density with the dial and the length of time the unit operates.
5) In the initial stages of a water - plate aquarium, the plants are weak, making it easier for moss to grow. Therefore, keep the light low, and control the amount of fertilizer and CO₂ so that it is a little lower. Increase the amount of CO₂ generation after the water plants are revitalized.
5. Stop the CO₂ supply at night.
1) At night (after turning off the light), stop the CO₂ supply with the timer or other means , reset the dial to zero, and conduct aeration as much as possible. Depending on the amount of water plants and fish, the fish might suffer from a shortage of oxygen during the night and die.
2) Avoid drying of the electrode unit in the air once the unit is use. It may damage the waterproofing capacity of the electrode head, and may cause the carbon plate to crack.
3) The timer is sold separately. We recommend that a Nisso Programming Timer be used with this product.
